Dodgers Reportedly Sign Right-Handed Pitcher to Minor League Deal
The Dodgers have reportedly signed right-handed pitcher Jesse Hahn to a minor league contract, according to Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic. He joins left-handed pitcher Stephen Gonsalves as the Dodgers’ newest minor leaguers this week.
Hahn, 34, has spent time in San Diego, Oakland, and most recently Kansas City. Over his career, he has a 4.22 ERA and 3.93 FIP. He has toyed with a few different pitch mixes over the years. The sinker, slider, and curveball have remained the constants in his repertoire.
Through poor performance or injuries, Hahn has not been able to stay at the major league level for very long. He set a career high in innings pitched back in 2015 with 96.2 across 16 starts. From 2019-21 with the Royals, Hahn only appeared in 29 major league games.
The right-hander has not pitched at any level since 2021, making this a rather odd signing. Clearly, though, the Dodgers see something they can work with, enough to give him a shot in the minor leagues.
The deal includes an invite to big league spring training, per Ardaya, so Hahn will get an opportunity to compete for a spot on the major league roster.
