Dodgers Roster News: Recently DFA’d Tayler Scott Traded to Red Sox For Cash
The Dodgers made a little trade on Thursday morning, thanks to the Boston Red Sox. The Red Sox claimed the recently DFA’d Tayler Scott off of waivers, and the two teams made a mini-swap to get him to Boston. The Red Sox gave the Dodgers some cash, and LA got something out of a reliever they wanted to get rid of anyway.

The Dodgers designated Scott for assignment this past weekend after he struggled at the big league level.
Scott appeared in six games for the Dodgers this season as part of their revolving door of relievers, and allowed six earned runs in six innings for an ERA of 9.00.
Scott initially joined the active roster in May, and then was sent down before coming back up when Phil Bickford was placed on the injured list. Then, about two weeks later, he was DFA’d to make room for Bryan Hudson.
The three-year pro will now hope to make an impact in Boston, where he’ll join tons of other former Dodgers including Justin Turner, Kiké Hernández and fellow bullpen mates Kenley Jansen and Chris Martin.
The Dodgers don’t play the Red Sox until the end of August, so we’ll see if Scott is still on the roster by then.
As for the Dodgers, they now have a little more cash in their pocket. That never hurts.
