Dodgers Rumors: MLB Insider Doubles Down On Low Chance Corbin Burnes Get Traded This Offseason

The Los Angeles Dodgers are looking to make some serious noise this offseason, and any noise would be better than the one they made last offseason. Last offseason was relatively quiet as you could hear a pin drop as you would on a late November evening in Dodger Stadium.

This season, the LA front office is looking for seismic shifts, one that would make them the team to beat. And one of the ways they’ll do that is by signing or trading for an elite arm. One of the pitchers LA has had on their radar for what seems like forever is Milwaukee Brewers ace, right-handed pitcher Corbin Burnes. It feels like Burnes has been on the chopping block for years, and that may remain the case even after this offseason.

MLB insider from the New York Post, Jon Heyman, believes there is a low chance the former NL Cy Young winner gets traded this offseason.

“The Brewers are telling teams they’ll listen on everyone, and true ace Burnes is worth a bundle. However, they can win their division again, and a trade of Burnes seriously diminishes their chances. Remarkably, the Brewers have consistently avoided selling despite existing in MLB’s No. 30 market. Maybe a deadline play? Odds to be traded: 30 percent.”

So, you’re saying there’s a chance?

Look, 30% is better than zero percent, and with a team like the Dodgers, there’s no denying their ability to trade for superstars.

President of baseball perations Andrew Friedman has expressed his desire to acquire an elite arm. It may not be Burnes, but they will acquire at least one or two elite arms this offseason. After the postseason they endured, more than one elite arm is necessary for the Boys in Blue to capture title No. 8.

  1. What would we do without all of these expert “mlb insiders” and their credible info.
    “There’s a good chance they’ll sign him.”
Then, “There’s no chance they’ll sign him.”
    “He’s on their trade list.”
    “He’s not going to traded.”
IMO, I place very little in any of these rumor pundits anymore. Wish there was some really credible site/source for off season information!
