Former Dodgers Reliever Signs One-Year Deal With Los Angeles Angels

Former Dodgers are flying off the board this Sunday. Late Sunday night, the Los Angeles Angels announced that they signed LHP Adam Kolarek to a one-year, MLB deal worth $900,000.

Kolarek spent parts of the 2019, 2020 and 2023 seasons with the Dodgers. He was a lefty specialist back in 2020 when they won the World Series, but lost his role when the MLB changed the rules to force pitchers to face a minimum of three batters.

The Dodgers added Kolarek on a minor league deal this past offseason, and he ended up making one appearance, throwing 1.1 scoreless innings for LA.

He also pitched in four games for the New York Mets in 2023, too, throwing 4.2 scoreless innings.

Clearly, Kolarek can still pitch, and the Angels are giving him a shot with an MLB deal. This comes a few hours after former Dodgers RHP Kenta Maeda signed a two-year deal with the Detroit Tigers.

The free agent chaos hasn’t really happened yet, but a couple former Dodgers found new homes heading into what should be a fun week.
