Dodgers Rumors: RHP Seth Lugo in LA’s Sights

The 2022 offseason has been different from what fans have pictured. Although we did get some good news that the Dodgers signed slugger J.D. Martinez earlier today, it has been a relatively slow offseason for the Boys in Blue.

A ton of moves can still be made from now until the start of the season, so don’t call this offseason a total failure yet.

MLB FOX sideline reporter Ken Rosenthal announced L.A. is ‘in the mix’ for free agent right-haned pitcher Seth Lugo.

If the Dodgers were able to acquire the 32-year-old pitcher, Rosenthal reported L.A. would build up the righty to be a starter, or if all goes well with the young guys; he’ll be brought in from the bullpen.

Lugo pitched for the Mets as a reliever for the past two seasons. In 2022, he had a 3-2 record with a 3.60 ERA, struck out 69 batters, and a 1.16 WHIP in 65 innings pitched and 62 games.

Seth has bounced around from the Mets, who drafted him in 2011, to triple-A, double-A, A+, A, A-, and Rk, according to Baseball Reference.

The Dodgers are in desperate need of pitching; you could never go wrong with adding as many arms as you can, and hopefully, Andrew Friedman finds a way to add Lugo.

Then again, the Dodgers have been in on almost every free agent, so this could be a whole lot of nothing. However, you could never sleep on the Dodgers.

Are you guys for or against adding Seth Lugo, Dodger fans?

  1. The way we got ass’d out of the playoffs. We need all the pitchers that can help. Fit the criteria or not…get the damn guy. Let the chips fall where they may .I see something bigger coming during the trade deadline or next year.
