Dodgers Score: Live Game Updates and Odds vs Padres on Friday, JD Martinez Returns

The Dodgers and Padres are getting set for their second series of the season, this time at Dodger Stadium. The two teams played last weekend, with the Dodgers taking two games out of three, and going undefeated after the crying Clayton Kershaw meme incident.

Kershaw isn’t going to pitch this weekend, but the Dodgers still have some of their best arms ready to go for another big division matchup.

On Friday, RHP Dustin May is getting the ball for the Dodgers, going up against LHP Blake Snell (more on the pitching matchup later). Here’s the lineup the Dodgers are sending out against the lefty who has pitched well against the Dodgers in his career:

J.D. Martinez officially returns to the Dodgers lineup after a two-and-a-half-week absence. Will Smith catches May and bats third. Chris Taylor, the hero in last Saturday’s game against Snell, is slotted into left field and hits in the five-hole. James Outman gets the night off against the left-hander with Trayce Thompson starting in center field.

Pitching Matchup

Like I said, Dustin May and Blake Snell are facing off on Friday. The two faced off last Saturday, too, with May getting the better of Snell in a pitcher’s duel.

May went six shutout innings, allowing just three hits and one walk while striking out six. Snell went six innings, too, allowing one hit and three walks while striking out six. The one hit, though, was the Chris Taylor two-run home run, which ultimately ended up being the difference in the game.
