Dodgers Take Hilarious Jab at Yankees on World Series Ring

Los Angeles Dodgers superstar Mookie Betts hit a walk-off three-run homer to secure the team’s fourth regular season victory Friday night. The Dodgers remain undefeated to start the 2025 season.

Prior to the extra innings matchup with the Detroit Tigers, the Dodgers held their championship ring ceremony to commemorate the organization’s 2024 World Series title.

It was everything, and more. The 2024 World Series ring is made of 14-karat gold and features more than 300 diamonds and 120 sapphires.

Around the edge is a circle of 34 sapphires in honor of late Dodgers pitcher Fernando Valenzuela, who passed away during the World Series run.

The elaborate piece of jewelry includes the 2024 postseason series results against the San Diego Padres, New York Mets, and New York Yankees.

But perhaps most memorable (and humorous), the championship ring also includes a row of five diamonds on the interior to represent the five-run deficit the Dodgers overcame in the fifth inning of World Series Game 5 against the Bronx Bombers.

It appears the Yankees’ fateful fifth inning will forever be marked on the World Series ring.

Betts, who endured a health trial for the past two weeks, became the Dodgers’ hero of the night hitting two home runs when the team needed them most. He shared his thoughts on the championship ring.

“It’s my favorite one,” said Betts, the only active position player in Major League Baseball with three World Series rings. “Hopefully I can get some more and we’ll be able to compare.”

For the first time since 1981, the Dodgers open the season 4-0 — with a luxurious ring in hand.
