Dodgers Trade for LHP Andrew Vasquez, Select His Contract, What does the Move Mean for LA?
The Dodgers made a move right before the September 1st deadline. LA traded minor league catcher Stevie Berman for Twins LHP Andrew Vasquez. We break down the deal and what it means for LA. Plus, LA selects the contract of lefty reliever, Andrew Vasquez and option RHP Ryan Meisinger to Triple-A while transferring LHP Scott Alexander to the 60-day IL, effectively ending his season.

As Brook Smith noted yesterday, Vasquez has pitched well in Triple-A this year. The lefty has recorded 68 strikeouts over 42.1 innings of work. He should be looked at as more of a depth piece down the stretch but, with the struggles of Victor Gonzalez this season, Andrew could be given a real shot to be a key left-handed arm out of the bullpen.
Vasquez hasn’t had much luck at the big league level over his career (6 earned runs in 5 innings pitched), but his 2.42 ERA over 169 minor league appearances tells a different story.

More Dodger IL masturbation. They are good at it.
Back and forth, back and forth.
I have no idea what he will bring to the table, but it better be good.
Well dodger boy, if he brought anything to the table he’d be a major leaguer not a 34 year old minor leaguer. Oh wait. He pitched 7 major league games in 2011.
Oh and brook what different story does a 2.42 ERA over 169 minor league games tell you about a 34 year old career minor leaguer who last pitched in the bigs in 2011 ? Enlighten me please.
Ahhh yes and we get another nobody…. don’t we have enough on the team now.. just another one Roberts can use to screw things up
Why in the H…E…L…L…..i…. is Matt Beaty NOT on this Roster? These extra inning games are lost because Roberts NEVER has anyone off the bench that can hit…Pujols is ok but a running liability. Mckinnley? Mckinstry? Bellinger all a combined 190 BA….Beaty 270….300 with RISP……Plays FIRST Base!!!! If Beaty is in there last night we win, simple as that…..Horrible decision by the dodgers involving Beaty…..
