Dodgers: Walker Buehler Listed As a Top 5 Pitcher in MLB

Walker Buehler comes into the 2022 season with something to prove. If not for a September and October meltdown, there is a very good chance he could’ve walked away with the first Cy Young award of his Dodgers career.

Instead, Buehler got beat up a little bit and surrendered 17 earned runs in 31.2 innings across the final month of the year. But it was also the first time in Buehler’s career that he broke the 200 innings mark, a big number for a starting pitcher to reach. The Dodgers needed every one of those innings, and it looked to eventually hurt him down the stretch.

But Buehler is a man on a mission this year. The experts over at MLB Network put out their list of the top 10 starters right now, and the Dodgers hurler came in at number 4. The list of guys ahead of him are not bad guys to be put into the same conversation as either.

If the Dodgers are going to make a run at a World Series title in 2022, Walker Buehler is going to be the guy on the staff carrying them there. He has truly established himself as the ace of this staff, consistently taking on some of the biggest games that they face.

Buehler also isn’t the young guy that we think of anymore. He’ll be 28 in July and is about to start his sixth big-league season. Time flies and the time is now for Walker and the Dodgers.
