Dodgers: Walker Buehler to Get MRI On Injured Elbow

The Dodgers did not have a great start to their series against the Giants. The San Francisco offense came out swinging and tagged Walker Buehler for a couple of runs before he was forced out of his start. He went just 4 innings and 70 pitches in the outing.

The team would later announce he left with right elbow soreness.

After the game, Dodgers manager Dave Roberts and Buehler both spoke about the injury. And the tone of the conversation didn’t exactly inspire hope, especially when Buehler talked about what had happened.

“I threw a breaking ball in the third inning and it kind of grabbed a little bit and kind of didn’t go away. I tried to pitch through it to see if it would pop away. Sometimes that’ll happen, but it didn’t happen for me tonight.”

Buehler is set to undergo an MRI on the injured elbow at some point today. The Dodgers should know more about how to proceed after that. But the young righty has undergone Tommy John surgery in the past, so any elbow issues are obviously concerning.
