Dodgers: Yasiel Puig Reacts to Being Featured in Diamond Vision Tribute

There were few times more exciting to be a Dodgers fan than when Yasiel Puig came up. The Cuban star immediately drew the attention and adoration of fans with his all-out style of play, unleashing inhuman throws from deep in the outfield and running the bases like his feet were on fire.

When Puig came up, the Dodgers were mired in last place with a 23-32 record. They were chasing the NL West lead by a whopping 8.5 games, and all hope appeared to be lost. But his ridiculous month of June ignited them, pushing Los Angeles to a 38-43 record and within 4 games by the time the month ended.

And that month landed Puig on the Dodgers’ Top 60 legendary moments of Dodger Stadium this week. They showed it up on the Diamond Vision during the game, and Puig took notice. The former outfielder took to his Twitter account to thank fans and express his love.

Puig hit a ridiculous .436 in his first month with the Dodgers, driving in 16 runs and playing absurd defense out in rightfield. While his career may not have gone the way many expected. that first year with Puig in right was a wild time to be a fan.

Puig helped lead the Dodgers to a division title and 92-70 on the year. They would eventually fall to the Cardinals in the National League Championship Series in 6 games. But we’ll never forget the Summer of Yasiel Puig.
