Dodgers’ Yoshinobu Yamamoto Says ‘It Would Be Such an Honor’ to Pitch During Seoul Series
Dodgers pitcher Yoshinobu Yamamoto told reporters at the Dodgers’ spring training facility, including Dodgers Nation’s Doug McKain, that he would be honored to pitch in one of the team’s first two regular season games against the San Diego Padres in Seoul, South Korea.
“I’m not sure because I don’t think it’s official yet, but if I throw during the series it would be such an honor. I would do my best to contribute to winning the game.”

Tuesday in Glendale, Ariz., Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said Yamamoto and pitcher Tyler Glasnow were a “safe bet” to pitch the two games against the Padres, March 20-21.
On Thursday, Yamamoto threw live batting practice to teammates, including Freddie Freeman, for the second time this spring. The Dodgers began their Cactus League schedule later in the day with a game against the San Diego Padres in Peoria, Arizona.
The 25-year-old right-hander offered a positive assessment of his progress in his first major league spring training:
“I’ve been feeling good. I’m going to pretend this is a real game. Probably next is going to be an actual game.”
