Former MLB Pitcher Believes Dodgers May Be In Tier Of Their Own Around League

All eyes are on the Dodgers this year to see if their heavy offseason spending can help them win the World Series. Former Cleveland Guardians pitcher Jensen Lewis believes Los Angeles will be the favorite to win the Fall Classic for years to come.

Before this year, the Dodgers had already been perennial favorites to make it to the World Series. They have sat atop the National League West for 11 of the last 12 years. Additionally, they have won the NL pennant three times since 2017.

Last year, L.A. won 100 games despite numerous injuries, and one placement on administrative leave, to the starting rotation. That team added Shohei Ohtani, Tyler Glasnow, Yoshinobu Yamamoto, and Teoscar Hernández and will get back key pieces in Walker Buehler and Blake Treinen.

The Dodgers expect two former MVPs and the reigning American League MVP to bat 1-2-3 atop their lineup. So, having L.A. as the favorite to at least make the World Series is not a farfetched notion.

However, having the best odds guarantees nothing. Despite having loaded rosters in the past, the Dodgers have failed to make it out of the divisional round the past two years. Their last NL Championship appearance was in 2021 where they lost to a Freeman-led Atlanta Braves team in six games.

Dodgers president of baseball operations Andrew Friedman did not build this roster for the regular season though. He amassed this much talent to help the team get over the hump in October.
