Julio Urias Reportedly Did Not Show Up to Court Date: Latest on Dodgers Pitcher

Estranged Dodgers pitcher, Julio Urias, was set to have his day in court on Wednesday. Urias was arrested on suspicion of domestic violence on September 4, 2023, and released on $50,000 bail. With the news also came a reported September 27th court date. According to Marca.com, Urias did not show up.

LaOpinion.com journalist Ricardo Lopez Juarez reported on the no show.

Via Marca.com: “There is no formal accusation against him, therefore, the case has not been filed in court”, Lopez Juarez reported as the reason behind Urias’ decision not to attend court. … in the absence of a ‘formal accusation’ by the alleged victim, Urias was not required to appear before a judge.

The long time Dodger remains on paid administrative leave while Major League Baseball investigates the accusation. He served a 20-game suspension for violating the league’s domestic violence policy in 2019 and stands to become the first ever repeat offender of the policy.

As it stands, it is unknown what the next steps are in Urias’s legal case.
