Dodgers News: Lingering Hamstring Soreness Scratches Puig From Lineup Once Again
The Dodgers had plenty of bats alive in Tuesday’s game where they beat the Cubs 5-0, with the help from a 3-run blast from Corey Seager. They did all of this without the help of Puig, who was scratched from the lineup due to a sore hamstring. Tonight, skipper Dave Roberts has decided to sit Puig for a second night in a row as his soreness lingers on.
It all started yesterday when hours before the game, Puig was replaced with Trayce Thompson, who will start again tonight, after feeling some discomfort in his left hamstring.

This soreness may come as a surprise to Dodgers Fans because just last week, Puig was seen hustling around the base paths and sliding home! Hopefully this is Dave Roberts being cautious with Puig and not an injury that will lead to him landing a spot on the disabled list, a tale known all to well to Dodgers fans.

Trayce Thompson went on to go 0-3 with a walk and a strikeout in Tuesday’s game. Hopefully he can turn it around tonight and give some run support to Mike Bolsinger, who will square up against Cubs’ starter Jon Lester. Blosinger, making just his 3rd start of the season today, is coming off a a great game where he went 5 2/3 innings against the Reds and only allowed 2 runs. The team and fans are relying on him to have his best stuff tonight against the Cubs, and if it’s anything like his last start, he will!
