Shohei Ohtani Buys Joe Kelly’s Wife a Porsche After Campaign to Get Him to Join Dodgers

Shohei Ohtani has gifted Ashley Kelly — Joe Kelly’s wife — a brand new Porsche. This comes after Ashley started the #Ohtake17 campaign, trying to convince Ohtani to sign with the Dodgers. Ashley said her husband, Joe, would give up his No. 17 jersey for Ohtani if he came to Los Angeles — and a few weeks later, Ohtani is a Dodger.

Ohtani noticed what the Kelly family did, and wanted to say thank you by gifting them a brand new Porsche.

It’s hard to put into words how incredible this is, but it truly shows the character of Shohei Ohtani. He noticed the effort that Ashley and the Kelly family put into getting him to Los Angeles, and he wanted to say thank you.

There were many questions about what Joe Kelly was going to receive from Ohtani for giving up his No. 17 jersey. While we don’t know exactly what was going to be sent over, it sounds like this was not a part of Joe’s ask, and instead something Ohtani wanted to do.

Ohtani continues to make waves among the Dodgers and baseball community, and this is just another act that shows how truly special of a person he is.
