Stories By Scully: Dodgers Honor Vin Scully During Blue Diamond Gala
On Thursday the Los Angeles Dodgers honored legendary announcer Vin Scully. The Dodgers honored him during the Foundation’s 2nd annual Blue Diamond Gala at Dodger Stadium. The night was filled with music and some of L.A.’s brightest stars.
Scully is in the middle of his 67th and final season as the Dodgers announcer. When Scully took the stage he began the only way a true Dodger legend would begin:

Vin Scully’s Top Stories of the 2016 Season So Far: Part 1 of 2
Scully has said he grew up a San Francisco Giants fan and tells a story on how things are coming full circle as he gets closer to the end of the 2016 season. From Jon Weisman from MLB.com:
[Scully] connected the day he was walking home from school and heard about a World Series game that cemented him as a baseball fan“That little boy saw that World Series line score — October 2, 1936,” Scully said.
“My last game, my wonderful last game after 67 years with the ballclub, will be against the San Francisco Giants. It will be October the 2nd, 2016. Exactly 80 years from when that little kid saw that Giants score.”
Scully stood in front of local media, friends, teammates and seem overwhelmed with emotion.

“I will thank you until the end of time, and I will thank you tonight for this wonderful honor, but more importantly, for you coming here tonight to contribute to the Foundation. It takes time, and it took money for you to be here tonight.

Please do your homework. Vin was a New York Giants fan while growing up. The San Francisco Giants did not exist until long after Vin became a Dodger announcer.
