At the start of the offseason, the $100 million renovations began at Dodger Stadium. While there were minor additions to the plaza, the focal point of the construction was to give the defending champions a state-of-the-art clubhouse.

Manager Dave Roberts gave a glowing review about the newly-renovated clubhouse, which had not undergone a makeover for more than a decade.

“This clubhouse has come a long way, certainly since 23 years ago when I played here,” Roberts said to MLB.com’s Sonja Chen. “They just get it right. Ownership, Stan [Kasten] and his staff and everyone, the vision, Janet Marie Smith. And you’re also looking at eight months of a project that essentially should have taken two years.

“Under the hood … the clubhouse, the other stuff, it just all makes sense. It’s cavernous, it’s functional, and it’s just first class. Everything is first class.”

Roberts’ remarks echoed the sentiment from his players, who were simply stunned by the refurbishments.

“It feels like they created space out of nothing, which they kind of did,” Max Muncy said. “Everything just feels a whole lot bigger. It’s kind of amazing.”

“That clubhouse was amazing,” Freddie Freeman said.

“Really crazy,” Tyler Glasnow said. “Everything was really nice.”
