Dodgers: Dave Roberts Talks Mindset as Trade Deadline Looms

With a lot of rumors and trade talks ahead of Tuesday’s trade deadline, the Dodgers are at the forefront of most of the top players available. Reds starter Luis Castillo was just taken off the list but you still got guys like Garrett Cooper, Brandon Dury, and of course Juan Soto, still popping up in trade rumors left and right.

The Dodgers were active on Saturday morning as they traded for relief pitcher, Chris Martin from the Chicago Cubs in exchange for IF/OF Zach McKinstry. The front office may not be done making moves to better the team and it’s up to Roberts to keep the team at bay.

This isn’t the first time the Dodgers skipper has had to keep his players focused on the task at hand. However, Roberts realizes that the front office will be aggressive and could break the internet any minute.

The Dodgers are already favored to win the National League and are heavy favorites in winning it all. Dodgers could do nothing and the odds won’t change, but you could never go wrong with adding players that will help strengthen their depth.

LA could pull the trigger, make a trade and their odds probably wouldn’t change a lot either. We witnessed last postseason that guys either ran out of gas or were injured, so if the front office feels like adding a reliable bat for their October run then we’ll be for it.
