Dodgers: Fan Gets His Nachos Ruined By Justin Turner

Let this be a warning to Dodgers fans looking to sit in the new homerun seats. If you’re sitting there, no food is safe. We got to see a great example of that on Wednesday night after Justin Turner took on deep to left-center.

Some helpless Dodgers fans reached out to catch Turner’s ball that just barely cleared the fence. Instead, his nachos caught the ball for him, this splattering cheese all over his jacket. And when we say all over, we mean ALL over.

The homerun was reviewed to make sure the fan did not reach over and eventually confirmed by the umpiring crew. It was Turner’s 3rd blast of the year and 11th run driven in.

The good news is that the Dodgers concession crew made sure to get him a new plate of nachos. The bad news is that they did not replace the cheese-covered jacket. But look at the bright side: he has that memory for the rest of his life.

The new homerun seats were installed by the Dodgers as part of their major renovations prior to the 2020 season. This is the first time that we have seen a fan interference reviewed homerun out there, but you can bet it won’t be the last time.

Protect those precious nachos at all costs, everyone.

UPDATE

The club later provided the fan a replacement jacket.

  1. Actually, I think it was Turner who had new nachos sent to the guy, and he also had a world series hoodie sent to him. If so, that’s JT. A class act. So glad we re-signed him. He’s hitting better than anyone on the team.

  2. What kind of fan goes to a Dodger game wearing NOTHING dodger related? There’s no such fan. In conclusion, he’s no fan. Let him wallow in his cheese caked hoodie.
