Dodgers Fans React to Jason Heyward Returning for 2024 Season

The Dodgers made their first big signing of the offseason on Monday and it was bringing back veteran outfielder Jason Heyward on a one-year contract. There had been talk of a reunion between the two sides, and now it’s officially happening.

The move was seen as a positive by members of the industry, and the Dodgers got back a productive player on a good deal. Heyward was great for LA last season after signing a minor-league contract, and he worked his way up to being a prominent member of the team.

Here at Dodgers Nation, we took a poll to see how most fans felt about the signing and generally speaking, people were happy that LA brought him back.

Last season, Heyward hit .269 with 15 home runs and 40 runs batted in. The team wanted to get a corner outfielder this offseason, and bringing back Heyward now checks off their need.

He was one of the leaders in the clubhouse, and his veteran presence didn’t go unnoticed last season. Heyward took some of the younger members of the team under his wing, most notably rookie James Outman, who has spoken about what Heyward meant to him.

LA keeps one of their biggest vocal leaders, and most productive players from a year ago. This is a great signing, and the first of many this offseason from the Dodgers.
