MLB Insider Thinks It’s a ‘Guarantee’ Dodgers Go Big This Offseason

Entering the offseason, the Dodgers were seen as a team expected to be the most active. They haven’t disappointed yet, and have been involved with multiple top-tier free agents this offseason, plus some of the bigger names on the trade market.

They are looking to make a massive splash this winter, and many believe that they will make it happen. After two straight first-round losses in the playoffs, the Dodgers front office is big-game hunting.

The Dodgers remain the favorites to land Shohei Ohtani this offseason, despite other teams getting major buzz to steal him away. They also are one of the top competitors for Japanese pitching sensation Yoshinobu Yamamoto as well.

LA has also spoken with the Chicago White Sox about landing starter Dylan Cease in a potential trade. They have options, and now are trying to figure out the best course of action to take.

MLB insider Bob Nightengale of USA Today spoke with our very own Doug McKain and said that he thinks it’s a guarantee that the Dodgers go this offseason with adding talent. You can see the entire interview here!

“I think it’s a guarantee. I think they’ve been waiting for this winter, that’s why they didn’t go big last year, waiting for this moment. I’d be shocked if you don’t get either Ohtani, Yamamoto or Cease. If not two of the three.”

There has been a lot of talk about the Dodgers landing multiple of the top players available this winter, and many believe they will. They have the resources to make it happen, and the team seems inclined to go all-in this offseason.

Fans have been calling for them to do this for a long time now, but it still remains to be seen if it will happen. But one thing is for sure, the Dodgers are trying to make some big moves, and the hope is that a few of them make a landing.
