Dodgers Fans Want LA to Trade for Cardinals Star Nolan Arenado, According to Latest Poll

As the MLB trade deadline approaches, the Los Angeles Dodgers have some big decisions to make. They are expected to be aggressive at the deadline, so they can shore up some holes in their roster. The team has seen major injuries all year long, but they have found ways to weather the storm and stay alive.

But with the chance to upgrade their chances at going after another World Series, LA can either go all-in to get some extra star power on the roster, or they can upgrade around the edges while hoping their guys can step up.

One of the biggest players that could be available at the deadline is St. Louis Cardinals third baseman Nolan Arenado. It remains to be seen if St. Louis will make their star available but if he is, the Dodgers should look to take advantage.

And according to one of our latest polls, Dodger fans seem to be very interested in the idea of LA going out to acquire Arenado.

Dodger fans have wanted Arenado in blue for some time now, and it was projected to happen a few years ago. But he was moved to the Cardinals, and the rest was history.

He is an eight-time All-Star, a five-time Silver Slugger and a 10-time Gold Glove Award winner. Arenado could help the Dodgers in many ways this season, and they could have him going forward as well. He opted into the remaining five years on his contract so LA could have him for a while.

The veteran third baseman is owed $144 million over the next five seasons, but his salary hit goes down every season. LA certainly has the money to afford Arenado, and it shouldn’t change their plans for this summer to chase after two-way superstar Shohei Ohtani with him on the books.

On the year, Arenado is slashing .286/.336/.520 with 21 home runs and 76 runs batted in. This is the level of production that LA could use, and they have the prospects needed to go out and get him.

They have a clear need at third base right now, and Arenado could help shore up the position. His right-handed bat and defense could help LA be a more well-rounded team, so it makes sense why fans want him.

While he wouldn’t solve their pitching issues, the team could also make some moves to address those. The front office should be looking to do whatever it takes to try and bring home another World Series with this current core of players.

Clayton Kershaw and Julio Urias may not be back next season, so they owe it to them to do so. Grabbing Arenado at the deadline would be a power move for LA, and would vault them into the conversation for World Series favorites.
