Dodgers Game Updates vs Astros: Emmet Sheehan Puts Scoreless Streak on the Line, Max Muncy Remains Out

The Dodgers are riding high, coming off a two game winning streak and a great performance by Usher at the 10th annual Blue Diamond Gala put on by the Dodgers Foundation. Tonight they look to make it three in a row and turn to rookie right-hander Emmet Sheehan (0-0, 0.00 ERA) who is coming off a stellar MLB debut last week.

The hated Astros are coming to Dodger Stadium for a three game series and they find themselves in a similar situation as the Dodgers. Besieged by injuries. Dusty Baker’s ‘Stros are running out a rookie of their own in RHP J.P. France (2-2, 3.83 ERA).

MLB Standings

Here’s a look at the lineup Dave Roberts is sending out against the right-hander.

The biggest shocker is Max Muncy and Chris Taylor remain out of the lineup. As of publishing time, there’s no update on Muncy who was expected to come off the injured list on Friday. Otherwise no surprises in the batting order. Rookie Michael Busch gets another start at third base with Muncy out.

Pitching Matchup

Emmet Sheehan is making his second career start and is coming off a doozie of a debut last Friday at Dodger Stadium. He tossed 6 no hit innings against the Giants, allowing only 2 walks in the eventual no decision. This will be the first start of his career against the Astros.

J.P. France will also be facing the Dodgers for the first time in his career. The 28-year-old rookie has pitched much better on the road (4 starts, 1.88 ERA).
