Dodgers Game Updates vs Astros: Tony Gonsolin Looks to Sweep Houston
The Dodgers are still riding high from the events of Saturday evening’s game in LA. Your boys in blue secured their fourth win in a row with a come from behind gem over the Houston Astros. The win wasn’t without its controversy, but it continued a streak of better fortune for the Dodgers. Now the club looks to sweep the Astros as Dave Roberts sends Tony Gonsolin (4-2, 2.92 ERA) to the mound to face rookie Hunter Brown (6-4, 3.78 ERA).

Nothing shocking in this lineup. Mookie Betts moves into the infield as the struggling Miguel Vargas sits. Will Smith starts all three of the games in the series but the timing of Sunday afternoon’s start makes that not a huge deal.
David Peralta, James Outman, and Jason Heyward make up the outfield.

Pitching Matchup
Tony Gonsolin makes his 11th start of the year and is coming off the worst start of his career where he allowed 7 runs in a loss to the Giants. Things have been a bit up and down for the 2022 All-Star of late, but, if he stays consistent with how his season has been (3 runs, 1 run, 3 runs, 0 runs, 7 runs over last 5 starts), Sunday should produce a dominant performance for the Cat Man.
He’s making his first career start against the Astros.
Hunter Brown is also facing the Dodgers for the first time in his career. The 24-year-old his debut last year and has been pressed into an innings eater role for Houston while three key starting pitchers are on the injured list. He too is coming off a rough start where he allowed 7 runs to the Mets in a loss.
