Dodgers Need to Trade For Corbin Burnes This Offseason, Says MLB Insider

With the Dodgers need for starting pitching this offseason, the team is expected to be aggressive in adding to the team. They will be looking all around the league, both on the free-agent market and via trades. One name that has been heavily linked to LA is starter Corbin Burnes from the Milwaukee Brewers. Burnes is entering his final year on his current contract and there has been a ton of buzz around the team moving him.

He is one of the better pitchers in the game today, and would completely bolster this LA rotation. MLB insider Matt Vasgersian believes LA should do whatever it takes to get Burnes into a Dodgers jersey this offseason.

“Burnes is the guy to go get for me. I love (Shane) Bieber but Burnes makes so much sense there.”

Per Matt Vasgersian of MLB Network

Over 32 starts last season, Burnes posted an ERA of 3.39. He had a WHIP of 1.07 and added 200 strikeouts in 193.2 innings of work.

Burnes is a dominant pitcher on the mound and would be a real game-changer for the Dodgers if they could acquire him. While it may take moving a few quality prospects to get him, LA should absolutely make the trade.

Lining Burnes up alongside Walker Buehler, Bobby Miller and any other pitchers that LA was to get this offseason would be special. The Dodgers know that they were embarrassed in the playoffs the last two years, and adding Burnes would be a sign to the entire league that they aren’t messing around.

The biggest issue with Burnes is that his agent is Scott Boras, and the Dodgers typically don’t do well with Boras clients. But this is a risk worth taking, and Burnes would give the Dodgers the ace-level pitcher that they have been searching for this offseason.

  1. The Dodgers should definitely go after Burnes. He’s a stud type pitcher that can help the Dodgers move past their consistently, dreadful post season failures. Stay away from an Adames added package – he’s not needed!

  2. Prove me wrong Dodgers with all this ‘talk’
regarding how aggressive you’re going to
be this offseason. Lots of activity happenin’
& as usual you’re on the outside looking in!
