Dodgers News: Bobby Miller Loves Watching Yoshinobu Yamamoto’s Javelin Routine

Dodgers second-year pitcher Bobby Miller will be looking to replicate his success from last year when he took the league by storm. Miller has all the tools to be an ace in this league and showed rare composure from a rookie pitcher.

He will be relied upon heavily once again this season, now that the team has put together a stronger rotation around him. Miller will need to show he can continue developing, but the team remains very high on his upside.

Miller has taken an interest in teammate Yoshinobu Yamamoto’s workout routine. Yamamoto consistently throws a javelin instead of playing long toss. It has taken the Dodgers’ clubhouse by storm in a way, with Miller now wanting to try it down the line.

“I love watching his routine. The way he goes about it. I might try to throw the javelin one day, too. I’ve seen a couple guys try to do it and it’s hard to. It’s so hard to throw, it’s wobbling.”

Miller has already shown himself to be special on the mound, but by introducing different training regimens, maybe he can be even more productive. Both Yamamoto and Miller can learn from each other, especially given the fact that they look to be the future of the Dodgers’ rotation.

If the young right-hander can keep improving his game over time, it would give the Dodgers a truly special arm to work with. He understands the pressure that is being placed on him entering this crucial year, but he isn’t shying away from the challenge ahead.
