Dodgers Notes: Non-Roster Invite Will Make Team, Trevor Bauer to Face LA, Gavin Lux Losing Shortstop Job?

It was a busy Thursday in Dodgers land, both on and off the field.

On the field, the Dodgers played two and a half innings against the San Francisco Giants, before the rain in Arizona cancelled the rest of the game.

Off the field, there were tons of headlines, including Dave Roberts confirming a non-roster invitee will make the roster, while also being noncommittal about Gavin Lux being his Opening Day starting shortstop.

And finally, Trevor Bauer will be facing the Dodgers this weekend… seriously.

  1. While I like Muncy and Lux for their many contributions over recent years, neither seems to be even average anymore on defense. Neither should be starters any longer. Their offense may be okay, but it’s time for a change. It’s also time for Barnes to be replaced, and possibly even Taylor and Vargas. These five are the team’s weak links going into 2024.

    1. Seriously, how many utility players do we need. Rojas, Hernandez, CT3 are one too many. IMHO, Keke was an unnecessary addition and his spot would be better served by Pages. Time to trade Rojas or CT3 plus one of our excess starting pitchers for a decent shortstop.
