Dodgers News: Concern for Julio Urias’ Shoulder Escalates
The concern escalates for young Dodgers’ phenom Julio Urias.
The Dodgers’ have tried to be very careful with Urias since his call up, minimizing innings, and making sure he develops properly. Unfortunately even after all the precautions, Urias finds himself on the DL. The good news is, the Dodgers’ didn’t bank on Urias being a huge impact in the MLB this year. As far as starting pitching goes, the Dodgers’ are well taken care of, with depth on depth on depth.
However, Urias is a huge part of the Dodgers’ future. He became the first teenager to take the mound since Fernando Valenzuela. He’s bounced back and forth from the rotation to the bullpen, not really gaining any traction for the Dodgers’. With all the inconsistency Urias found himself back in the minors to find his rhythm.
Roberts didn't sound reassuring about condition of shoulder of LHP Julio Urias, who is returning from AZ to LA: "It's still kind of fuzzy."

Shortly after being sent down, the shoulder discomfort began, and after a medical scan, a sigh of relief followed the news of it being nothing but shoulder inflammation.
Urias was just flown to L.A. to receive further care and attention. Dodgers’ Manager Dave Roberts and Dodgers’ President of Baseball Operations denied any new info on Urias. However, this is a large cause of concern as the Dodgers’ emotional investment in the young hurler could be at a larger risk.
