Dodgers News: MLB Insider Reveals Source Believes Gavin Lux Injury is ‘Bad’

Dodgers fans are left holding their collective breaths awaiting news on injured shortstop Gavin Lux. The 25-year-old appeared to injure his knee in an awkward play on the basepaths on Monday and had to be carted off the field.

Lux was immediately sent for testing, Dodgers manager Dave Roberts revealed after LA’s come from behind win over the Padres. Doc said at the time that Lux had “heard a pop” on the outside of his knee. At the time, Roberts was hopeful the injury wasn’t too significant but an early morning update from ESPN’s Buster Olney paints an ugly picture.

Olney revealed in a tweet early Tuesday morning that an industry source believes the injury is significant.

More details should come soon as Roberts meets with media at Camelback Ranch. Any significant loss of time is devastating for Lux and the Dodgers. Lux was set to take over as the starting shortstop for the club and take a big step forward in his career. Now, worst case scenario, he could miss all of the 2023 season.

More details to come…
