Dodgers News: Mookie Betts Scratched from Lineup with Injury

The Dodgers posted a lineup update hours before first pitch at Dodger Stadium on Saturday scratching Mookie Betts from the lineup with right ankle soreness.

The injury happened while he was getting out of the way of a pitch late in last night’s game.

The move appears to be purely precautionary but we’ll await more details from Dave Roberts when he speaks with media shortly.

This is only the fourth game Mookie has sat this season. David Peralta moves up in the lineup to the leadoff spot and Chris Taylor was added to fill in for Betts at second base.

He’ll be unavailable tonight and is day to day.

Betts is hitting .277 with a team-leading 27 home runs and 68 runs batted in over 99 games. With Monday being an off day, it wouldn’t be shocking to see Roberts give Mookie an extra day of rest before the team begins a 19 games in 20 day stretch on August 2nd.
