Dodgers News: Will Smith Scratched From Friday’s Lineup With Illness

It was a bit of a surprise for Dodger fans when Will Smith wasn’t in Friday’s lineup. The Dodgers were coming off a day off, so it was a little weird for him to be out of the lineup again. However, Dave Roberts spoke to the media on Friday, and said that Smith has an illness, which is why he’s out of the lineup.

This makes a lot more sense, as there would have been no reason to rest Smith again coming off the day of rest. However, Roberts said Smith was supposed to be in the lineup, but unfortunately came in today feeling under the weather, so Doc is keeping him out of the lineup.

Hopefully Smith is feeling better soon, and the Dodgers can get him back in the lineup sometime this weekend. But, of course, the most important thing is him feeling good, so hopefully he gets better soon!

In his place, Austin Barnes is starting at catcher. However, he better stay away from the ejections on Friday, because there are no other catchers on the roster.

Max Muncy is apparently the backup catcher, so that’s definitely not somewhere we want to get to.
