Dodgers Postseason Roster Questions: Who Takes Final Spots?

The Los Angeles Dodgers are NL West champions once again. Over the weekend, the club clinched the division, quieting the pundits that picked the Padres to run away with the West in 2023. Now, with the clinchmas party behind them, the focus shifts to October where the club is looking to get back to the World Series for the first time since winning it all in 2020.

But, before the postseason begins, there are some questions for Dave Roberts, Andrew Friedman, and company.

What will the roster look like? Who should get the final spot on the bench? Is there a need to change the lineup in any way as players like Will Smith and David Peralta struggle off and on in recent weeks? Should Jason Heyward or James Outman move up in the lineup?

The team will take the next two weeks to assess the roster, particularly on the pitching side, to assemble the best 26 players to bring home the commissioner’s trophy this fall. DodgersNation.com’s Doug McKain called in Dodgers expert Casey Porter at Dodgers Daily to discuss the potential lineups, bench, and the issues the team needs to address over the final 14 games of the regular season.
