Dodgers Score: Live Game Updates and Odds vs Padres on Saturday, May/Snell, Muncy Back

The Dodgers took a chin punch on Friday night but look to get back in the fight on Saturday with Dustin May (3-1, 3.15 ERA) on the mound. The classy Padres send left-hander Blake Snell (1-4, 5.28 ERA) to face an LA lineup that looks a bit different than those he’s faced in the past.

The Dodgers will also play without Dave Roberts who is away for the evening.

Here’s a look at the lineup acting manager Danny Lehmann is sending out to face the 2018 AL Cy Young award winner.

Max Muncy is back in the lineup at DH day after being pulled while dealing with flu-like symptoms. He’s 1-14 lifetime against Snell (regular season). The other lefty batters in the lineup are the usual suspects with James Outman (who’s in an on again off again slump) and Freddie Freeman who is 4-9 in his career vs Snell. Chris Taylor makes his fourth start at third base. Trayce Thompson cracks the starting lineup for the first time in a week and Mookie Betts is out in right field.

Will Smith catches May and has a .313 career average vs Snell lifetime.

Pitching Matchup

The 25-year-old Dustin May is in the midst of a rough patch, putting together a run of ok but not necessarily good starts in 3 of his last 4 games. Over that span of 21.1 innings, he’s allowed 15 hits, 11 runs, and has walked 11, which have been the biggest issue.

He’s also been just fine against the Padres in his career with a 1-4 record and 3.88 ERA in 10 previous games (7 starts). May is 1-1 with a 3.04 ERA at Petco Park in his regular season career.

Snell usually pitches well against the Dodgers, with a 2.50 lifetime ERA in 9 regular season starts. And you of course know his history against LA in the playoffs…
