Dodgers Tender Contract to All Arbitration-Eligible Players, 40-Man Roster Remains the Same
The MLB’s non-tender deadline has come and gone, and the Dodgers elected to do nothing drastic. The team tendered contracts to all players, meaning the 40-man roster remains at 39. Jack Harris of the LA Times reported the news.
There were a few players who could have been non-tendered, including Victor Gonzalez, Ryan Yarbrough or even Yency Almonte.
However, the Dodgers decided to keep the team together for now, and start looking to free agency and the trade market.
The Dodgers have 12 arbitration-eligible players who they tendered contracts to. Per MLB Trade Rumors, here are their expected contracts after arbitration:
Will Smith: $9.3 million
Walker Buehler: $8.03 million.
Ryan Yarbrough: $3.8 million
Evan Phillips: $3.4 million
Brusdar Graterol: $2.5 million
Dustin May: $2.4 million
Caleb Ferguson: $2.3 million
Yency Almonte: $1.9 million
Alex Vesia: $1.2 million
Gavin Lux: $1.1 million
J.P. Feyereisen: $1 million
Victor Gonzalez: $1 million
Last year the Dodgers non-tendered Cody Bellinger, who went on to sign a one-year, prove-it deal with the Chicago Cubs. Now, Bellinger is entering free agency as one of the better players on the market.
This year, though, we won’t have any stories like that.
Now, onto free agency.
