Dodgers: Weekend Starting Rotation Officially Set Versus the Diamondbacks
The Dodgers and Diamondbacks will be starting a 3-game series in the desert. With just a handful of games remaining before the regular season wraps up, this series is huge for Los Angeles. They entered play on Thursday afternoon chasing the Giants by 2 games in the NL West.
Dave Roberts set his rotation against the DBacks earlier this week, and he decided to change things up a bit. The Dodgers will give Clayton Kershaw an extra day of rest which will play up down the stretch as we head into October.
Friday: Tony Gonsolin vs Humberto Castellanos
Tony Gonsolin’s last appearance came out of the bullpen behind Clatyon Kershaw. Given the number of off-days and the availability of guys, it made sense to get him some work in relief. It did not go as planned, but Tony will look to build off of a recent successful start against Arizona.
He will face off against Humberto Castellanos who has allowed at least 3 earned runs in his last 3 starts.
Saturday: Clayton Kershaw vs Zac Gallen
Clayton Kershaw gets his third start since coming off of the injured list and will look to build off of Sunday’s appearance. Kersh tallied 8 strikeouts against a very good Reds offense and induced plenty of swings and misses in the Dodgers win.
The Dodgers get to face a guy that they roughed up in his last start with Zac Gallen. LA scratched across 4 runs against Gallen in 5.1 innings of work back on September 13th.

Sunday: Julio Urías vs Humberto Mejía
The Dodgers are hoping for a bounceback start from Julio on Sunday after giving up the lead against the Rockies this week. His velocity will be something to watch as well as he contnues to grow his career-high in innings pitched in 2021.
The Dodgers get Humberto Mejia who has allowed 10 runs over his last 2 starts combined. This one seems to be a must-win, though the same could be said for all 3.
Dodgers: Dave Roberts Thinks He Knows What Has Plagued Walker Buehler Lately
If the Boys in Blue want to win this division, three guys need to step up their games…Max (Moonshot) Muncy, Mookie (the cookie) Betts and Justin (The Red Dream) Turner. If we lose even a single game in AZ, the division is lost. The DBags know this and even though their A game is pretty jacked, rest assured they’re bringing it this weekend. Lots of satisfaction for them putting a dent in LA’s season. The Rox, in the meantime, will beat the Giants at least once. They are good enough to beat them twice. Let’s hope for some Rocky Mountain High heat.
