Dodgers’ Yasiel Puig Will Start On Tuesday Against The Padres
The Dodgers have been making headlines recently, and not for the best reasons. Yasiel Puig decided, on his own, to steal second base in the bottom of the 9th with two outs on Saturday and was tagged out. On top of that, he failed to slide because he said that he felt something in his ankle on the way to the bag. Dave Roberts was not happy about any of this and decided to bench him on Sunday because of it.
Then Yasiel Puig showed up late to the field on Monday. Again, an unhappy Dave Roberts decided to keep Puig out of the starting lineup. Luckily, it looks like Monday will be the last day that Puig is on the bench.
Alanna Rizzo tweeted that Yasiel Puig and Dave Roberts have talked and Puig will be back in the lineup on Tuesday.
Roberts said he, Puig & the entire team, are on same page. Puig will be in starting lineup tomorrow. #Dodgers

These past few days have been very turbulent, to say the least. It is never a good sign to see the manager of a team and one of his players bump heads; however, it becomes so much more concerning when there is just a week left of the season.
Hopefully the two were able to settle their differences and come to a solution. The Dodgers are going to need both Dave Roberts and Yasiel Puig to be 100% focused on winning in October, and that will not happen if Roberts is worried about whether or not he can trust Puig.
Dodgers’ Dave Roberts Comments On Yasiel Puig Showing Up Late To Field
Roberts really should keep these things private. It makes a mountain out of a molehill in the media.
I agree
