Former Dodger Julio Urias Looking to Pitch in 2024: Report

According to his agent Scott Boras, former Dodgers left-handed starting pitcher Julio Urías is reportedly looking to pitch in 2024. Urías has been away from the game after being placed on administrative leave last season.

“We certainly have teams inquiring about him a lot,” Boras said.

According to reports from the Spanish media, Urías may be looking to land with an NPB team in Japan.

The left-hander was arrested on suspicion of domestic battery following an LAFC soccer match in early September. The Dodgers have distanced themselves from Urías, but the latest update on the situation was that he wouldn’t face felony charges in Los Angeles County.

His career with the Dodgers may be over, but Boras revealed they are waiting for the authorities to figure out where the left-hander stands.

“I think all of us are waiting for the authorities to let us know where Julio stands,” Boras said to the LA Times.

While Urías may not face legal charges, Major League Baseball may come down with some form of discipline for him. This is his second time violating the league’s domestic violence policy, as he was previously suspended by MLB for 20 games in 2019.

Currently a free agent, Urías is bidding his time to see what happens. According to Boras, he is taking steps to grow as a person, but the agent refrained from mentioning what exactly that entailed.

“He’s basically doing what players do,” Boras said. “He’s also taking steps to grow personally.”

It remains to be seen if Urías will be given another chance in MLB, but no player has ever been charged under the domestic violence policy twice. For now, the wait continues for the former Dodgers ace.

    1. Of course he deserves another chance. So many other former, and some current players have done a lot worse than Julio has, and their punishments have been more lenient than Julio’s. He’s not even in his prime yet, I say he deserves another shot at the big League level.

      1. I believe that he deserves the opportunity . All of us have made mistakes in our lives no matter what they were . Don’t shut him out of his chance to work . He will most likely not pitch for the Dodgers . As for his agent , who is a bag of wing ignore him and focus on the person Urias .

  1. Julio needs to learn the laws in our Country at home and in the public.. the league can’t just suspend these players Everytime domestic violence happens between a Player and his spouse. It’s obvious Julio is struggling with Domestic violence issues. But it takes two start a fight, I believe the courts should also charge the spouse for initiating the fight. I’m tired of the law being one sided.
