Dodgers’ Tyler Glasnow Reveals Incredible Story of How He Met His Girlfriend

Things appear to be going pretty well for Tyler Glasnow. The 30-year-old pitcher was traded during the offseason to the Dodgers, with whom he signed a huge five-year, $136.5 million contract in December.

Glasnow returned to his home state to become the No. 1 pitcher in one of baseball’s best rotations. This earned Glasnow the first-ever start in an MLB regular season game in Korea, where Glasnow led the Dodgers to their first win of the 2024 season.

On top of his professional career, Glasnow’s personal life seems to be going strong. Glasnow is in a relationship with his girlfriend, Meghan Murphy, whom he met in a rom-com type of way back in 2021 at a Tampa Bay Rays game.

“I saw a girl who was kind of cute, so I had our team photographer zoom in on her — this just sounds very weird — but she was wholesome, with a girl-next-door look. So I wrote my phone number on a ball, threw it to her and told her to text me. She came to the next game, threw me a ball with her number and told me to text her.

“I didn’t think anything would come of it, but then I met her, and she was awesome. She has a really good personality, loves to travel and is really fun, so it’s super easy. That was the first time I’ve ever thrown a ball to someone [with my phone number on it], too. And I still don’t think she believes me.”

Glasnow got the win in the Dodgers’ domestic home opener over the St. Louis Cardinals. It’s been an incredible start with the team for the right-hander and the hope is that he can keep it up.
