Majority of Dodgers Fans Want to See LA Sign Blake Snell This Offseason

No matter how the Dodgers season ends, they will be entering the offseason with a ton of questions surrounding their starting rotation. They don’t have many for sure guys locked in for next season, so we could see the team being big spenders on the free agency market.

LA is expected to go after Angels two-way superstar Shohei Ohtani, but his torn UCL that he suffered this year means he won’t be pitching next season if LA lands him. So, even if they get Ohtani, they will still need to add more starters.

One name that has been floated around circles a lot lately is left-hander Blake Snell from the San Diego Padres. Snell is in the midst of an incredible year for San Diego, and he is the current frontrunner for the Cy Young Award.

Landing Snell could help the Dodgers next season, especially if Ohtani does sign with the team. He would bring a big-time arm to LA, and it takes him away from a division rival. Getting both Snell and Ohtani would be difficult, but the Dodgers do have the financial resources to make it happen.

Nobody knows what Clayton Kershaw will do after the year, Julio Urias is gone and it remains to be seen whether the team picks up Lance Lynn’s option. LA may need to throw money at their starting rotation issues, to make sure they field a solid team again next season.

LA fans seem very interested in signing Snell according to one of our latest polls.

On the year, Snell holds an ERA of 2.43 and a WHIP of 1.22. He has also struck out 217 batters over 167 innings of work. It has been a great year for him that could end in him winning his second Cy Young Award.

Snell is 30 years old and should continue pitching at a high level for the next few years. He could help usher in the next era of Dodgers baseball, and he has seen major success in the postseason.

If anything, LA should sign Snell just so they don’t have to face him anymore. He has owned them when on the mound lately, so this could be a win-win.
