Mookie Betts Doubles Down on Feelings After Dodgers Early Postseason Exit

It was another frustrating playoff for the Dodgers once again this year and one that ended far too soon. Now as they enter the offseason, LA is still left searching for answers, and unfortunately, we probably won’t ever get them.

After they were eliminated, many people had thoughts on why the Dodgers were bounced so early. Some blamed the long layoff, while others took aim at the Dodgers strategy. Mookie Betts spoke about what happened and gave his thoughts on what went wrong.

“There’s probably a million people with all the answers. I’m sure somebody is right,” he said. “But I don’t know what those answers are.”

Betts also provided some insight into his beliefs about the postseason format, and if it had anything to do with the struggles the team has seen in the past two playoff runs.

“You can argue that there’s advantages here and disadvantages in other places,” Betts said. “At the end of the day, no matter what, there’s no excuse. You’ve got to go play, no matter what, and let the chips fall where they may.”

No matter what the reason is, the Dodgers fell flat on their face. For the third time in the past five years, LA failed to get out of the first round of the postseason, and that is a problem in itself.

One of the biggest issues for the Dodgers in the postseason was the disappointing play from their stars that carried them all year. Betts and Freddie Freeman went a combined 1-21 in the series, and that isn’t going to get the job done whatsoever.

Betts spoke on his performance while he was at the World Series as a spectator, and he owned up to the poor performance again.

“I just know, for me, I have to do better. That’s pretty much it. I have to do better, no matter what.”

Betts is going to have to figure out how to make sure he doesn’t perform in this manner again next season if the team reaches the playoffs. He was in the running for the National League MVP award all year, which makes his struggles even harder to comprehend.

    Overpaid? They all are!
It’s just a game. Just entertainment.
Greedy owners and players pricing out the common person!
Sadly, the same with all venues of entertainment.
