Mookie Betts Says Dodgers Have Kept Promise to Him About Always Wanting to Win

The Los Angeles Dodgers have kept their promise from when they traded for Mookie Betts back in 2020. The Dodgers promised Betts they would help him always win, and that’s what they’ve done.

Speaking at Saturday’s DodgerFest, Betts expressed his satisfaction with how the Dodgers have lived up to their promise.

The Dodgers have certainly won since Betts arrived from Boston. During his last four seasons with the Red Sox, Betts was a part of four consecutive winning seasons, including a World Series title in 2018. Betts’ time with the Dodgers has at least equaled, if not surpassed the amount of winning he had with the Red Sox.

In four seasons with the Dodgers, Betts has been a part of a world Series winning team in 2020, and three separate 100-win seasons since, including an 111-51 season in 2022. Overall, the Dodgers have a 360-186 record since acquiring Betts.

Of course, the main area the Dodgers are looking to improve is in the postseason, where they have failed to make it back to the World Series over the last three seasons. They have set themselves up by winning the NL West both of the last two seasons, but need to avoid another NL Division Series exit to fully achieve their title dreams.

The Dodgers have continued to show Betts their commitment to winning, including in the postseason, with all the moves they have made this offseason, which will ideally result in the franchise’s eighth championship.
