Bobby Miller and Ryan Pepiot Appear To Be ‘Locks’ For Dodgers 2024 Rotation

The priority for the Dodgers this offseason is to find starting pitching help. After a season that saw a normally strong unit turn into a disaster, LA is determined to not let it happen again.

The team is expected to be aggressive in doing so this winter, and they have been linked with the majority of top-tier names on the open market. They will add talent to the starting rotation, but LA does have some quality arms within already. And according to one insider, two young starters are locks to make the rotation.

Insider Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic says that Bobby Miller and Ryan Pepiot appear to be locks for the rotation next season. Both performed well last year, and the team likely wants to see more of what they can do.

“Bobby Miller and Ryan Pepiot appear to be locks for the Opening Day rotation.”

Per Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic

The two young starters were key contributors for the Dodgers down the stretch last season. They likely wouldn’t have won 100 games without them, and they both have a lot more room to grow next year.

Miller burst onto the scene as a rookie last season, and he has the look of a future ace for this team. He posted an ERA of 3.76 and a WHIP of 1.10 over 22 starts for LA.

The biggest component of Miller’s game is that he never seemed to get rattled and stayed poised throughout the year. His calm demeanor helped him navigate through different issues on the mound and he got better with each start he made.

As for Pepiot, he returned from injury toward the end of the season and showed out. In eight games for the Dodgers, he was lights out, posting an ERA of 2.14.

Pepiot finally got a chance to show why he was originally selected to be a part of the Opening Day roster last season, and LA needed every bit of it. Weirdly, he didn’t see action in the postseason despite how good he was down the stretch, but the Dodgers remain high on him going forward.

Both of these pitchers represent a new era of the Dodgers rotation, and the team is excited to have them. Alongside Walker Buehler and whomever the team brings in over the offseason, the Dodgers should have one of the better rotations in baseball.
