Tyler Glasnow Grew Up a Huge Dodgers Fan, Especially Clayton Kershaw

With the Dodgers’ acquisition of starting pitcher Tyler Glasnow from the Tampa Bay Rays, the hometown kid finally gets to come home. Glasnow grew up in Southern California, and will now get the chance to play for his childhood favorite team.

He said that his family would go to Dodgers games as often as they could, but living in Santa Clarita made the traffic a nightmare. The right-hander also added that he was the typical fan who would arrive at the game late, only to leave early to beat traffic back.

Glasnow has said that playing for the Dodgers will be a dream come true and that he always wanted to put on the L.A. jersey. He will get the chance in 2024, and he will be very motivated to help them compete for a World Series moving forward.

Being a kid from Southern California who watched the Dodgers, he said that his favorite players were former L.A. outfielder Shawn Green and starting pitcher Clayton Kershaw. Kershaw remains an option to return to the team next season, and if it happens, Glasnow would get to play alongside one of his all-time favorites.

Ironically, Glasnow got to face off against Kershaw twice in the 2020 World Series in Games 1 and 5. The Dodgers took both games, but it was likely still a cool moment for the veteran pitcher.

With Glasnow coming home, the pressure will be on him to perform at the highest level. If he can help deliver a full-season title to the Dodgers organization, he will go down as a legend among the fanbase.
