Vin Scully News: Dodgers Legend Makes Another Hall Of Fame

Vin Scully was a national treasure. So more than half of his 94 years of life, he entertained millions with his one-of-a-kind voice.

He dazzled day in and day out as a broadcaster for multiple sports. But he was most known for his broadcasting of Dodger games.

Scully joined the Dodgers organization when they were still in Brooklyn, and followed the team out to LA. He quickly became a favorite of the passionate fanbase.

Unfortunately, he passed away last August, but recently he was announced into the California Hall-of-Fame.

The Hall-of-Fame is an exhibit at the California Museum up in Sacramento. To be selected for this is a special honor to people that embody what being a Californian is all about. This description fits Scully to a tee, and this is an exciting moment for his family and fans.

“Inductees are selected annually by California’s governor and spouse for achievement in arts, business, labor, entertainment, literature, public service, science, sports, and food and wine.”

California Governor Gavin Newson spoke about the newest member class for this year that includes the long-time Dodgers broadcaster.

“We are thrilled to announce the newest class of inductees joining some of our state’s most revolutionary, innovative, and brightest in the California Hall of Fame,” Newsom said in a news release. “The outstanding legacy of this group has and will continue to embody what it means to be a Californian. There is no doubt their legacies will continue to live on and inspire millions across our state for generations to come.”

This is just another award and honor for the legacy of Scully. Dodger fans miss him dearly, and most know that he would humbly accept this award. That is just the kind of person that he was.

Congrats Vin! I hope you are at peace and are still watching the Dodgers!
