Walker Buehler Reacts to Clayton Kershaw Returning to Dodgers for 2024 Season
The return of Clayton Kershaw to the Los Angeles Dodgers already has his teammates excited, including fellow pitcher Walker Buehler.
Buehler reacted to the news of Kershaw’s return with a simple one-word tweet, saying “BANG!!” in all-caps.
Buehler and Kershaw will now be teammates for the eighth consecutive season, with the two homegrown talents having spent their entire careers with the Dodgers. Both players are also returning from injuries, with Buehler missing the entire 2023 season after undergoing a second Tommy John surgery. Kershaw is recovering from offseason shoulder surgery.
The return of Kershaw is not just exciting for Buehler, but plenty of his other teammates and Dodgers fans at large. Kershaw has become a Dodgers legend over the past 16 years, and will look to continue that legacy in 2024.
He can further his legacy if he manages to reach the 3,000 strikeout milestone, which he enters 2024 just 56 away from hitting. Since Kershaw likely won’t be able to return until the late summer around August, it remains to be seen if he has enough time to get there.
The main focus for Kershaw and the Dodgers will be winning in October, though. And this year, Kershaw will have one of the best rosters in baseball behind him.
