Walker Buehler Takes Major Step Forward Toward 2024 Debut

The return of Dodgers ace Walker Buehler is slowly approaching.

According to AM570’s David Vassegh, Buehler will throw to hitters tomorrow at Dodger Stadium before their matchup against the Angels.

The Dodgers will face the Angels for a three-exhibition from Sunday to Tuesday before their regular season campaign commences on Thursday. Buehler was placed on the 15-day injured list a couple of days ago to start the season.

He has spent the entire spring recovering from his Aug. 2022 Tommy John surgery. He suffered the injury in June 2022, which was the last time we saw him on a big-league mound. The 29-year-old ace was able to touch 97 mph with his fastball during his live batting practice session.

This is tremendous news for the Dodgers and Buehler, as this is a sign that his rehab is going exceptionally well. Although he is on the 15-day injured list, we likely won’t see the two-time All-Star for another month or two before his regular season debut.

While the Dodgers rotation looks fine now, a team can never have too many starting pitchers — especially those with Buehler’s talent.

The regular season begins Thursday, and the return of Buetane will be here soon after.
