Dodgers Fans Grade LA’s Trade Deadline Haul

The deadline has come and passed, and the fans of the Dodgers are voicing their opinion on the club’s trade acquisitions.

In a deadline that brings back former fan favorites in Kikè Hernández and Joe Kelly, new faces also appear in that of Amed Rosario, Lance Lynn, and Ryan Yarbrough. The names aren’t flashy, but the potential is the biggest question mark for the midseason additions. Is it enough to win the fans over?

While a C is average it is below the expected result for a World Series contending team the Dodgers are. The biggest thing to note is that the big trade move that was in the Dodgers’ plan didn’t come to fruition due to contract talks and a limited no-trade clause.

What is the bright side of this deadline?

The new, and not-so-new, guys are here to help the team and they are already being an instant impact on the team. While everyone but Ryan Yarbrough has made an appearance in Dodger Blue, he is expected to pitch for the team during the ongoing Padres series.

Kikè Hernández is a fan favorite in the clubhouse and for fans alike and while he was having his worst year as a pro for the Red Sox this year, he looks like a new man for LA. Currently hitting a .286 average for the team with five RBIs in nine games, the now 31-year-old utility man is looking improved and rejuvenated after a much-needed return to the team he spent six years with.

Amed Rosario was acquired in a 1-for-1 trade for Noah Syndergaard with the Cleveland Guardians. While Rosario struggled with the Guardians this year, the 27-year-old shortstop has caught fire with his new club. Hitting .292 while racking up 7 RBI in his first five games The young infielder is also already flashing the leather and winning over the hearts of Dodger fans quickly.

Lance Lynn is an established pitcher in the MLB. However, after having a down year with the White Sox the team was selling and the aged veteran was quickly on the move to the city of Angels. While the pitcher has struggled with the long ball this year, the confident pitcher adds something to the Dodgers that was very needed, strikeouts and innings.

While the Dodgers may have not pulled in the big names at this deadline, the club has added some very interesting pieces that are already making a big impact on the team.
