Dodgers’ Mookie Betts Gives His Thoughts on Shohei Ohtani Investigation

The investigation into Shohei Ohtani and his former interpreter Ippei Mizuhara has taken the baseball world by storm. Mizuhara has been accused of “massive theft” of Ohtani’s money to pay off a gambling debt to an alleged illegal bookmaker. MLB has launched an investigation into the matter.

Ohtani reportedly learned the seriousness of the situation on Wednesday following the Dodgers opening game against the San Diego Padres.

Mizuhara was fired by Los Angeles on Thursday, before the second game of the series. But we have heard nothing from Ohtani.

However, it was announced on Sunday that Ohtani would speak to the media on Monday, so we may get some more clarity into everything. Ohtani needs to clear the air about all of this in order to start putting it behind him.

Dodgers star Mookie Betts gave his thoughts on everything going on, seemingly showing support for his teammate, Ohtani.

“It kind of is what it is,” Betts said. “I hope Sho is good, but at the end of the day you have to make sure we take care of your job.”

Betts understands that this is a hard time for Ohtani, so he wants to do what he can to support him. But at the same time, he knows that the season is about to get underway and the team has a mission to accomplish.

We need to know how much Ohtani knew about the payments sent to the bookmaker from his account, and when it happened. This will be the only way for him to avoid any discipline.

Hopefully, Monday will give us more insight into what actually happened between Ohtani and Mizuhara.
