Dodgers News: Chris Taylor Reflects on Another Winning Season in LA

Dodgers utility man Chris Taylor knows better than anyone on the 2023 roster that the organization as a whole expects success unlike any other in MLB.

The veteran shared his thoughts about the continued triumphs within the team after yet another 100 win season at Chavez Ravine.

“Being on this team, we’ve been on a lot of winning teams. It’s easy to take it for granted,” said Chris Taylor, one of eight players who has played on each of the four 100-win teams in this stretch. “We had a really good year and I think it’s important to reflect on it and feel good about it then we move on. We start over now.”

Taylor joined the Dodgers after being a throw away from Seattle in a 2016 trade for LA pitching prospect Zach Lee.

Lee never made the majors and Andrew Friedman and company made off like bandits after Taylor became a late bloomer for Dave Roberts’ roster.

Reliable for at least one clutch moment every season, Taylor’s blossomed into an All-Star with LA and inked a contract extension last offseason that should keep him in Dodger blue for the foreseeable future.

Even after plenty of postseason hits the now 33-year-old isn’t taking anything for granted at this stage of his career.

Though he’s hit game-tying singles, made diving catches, hit three home runs in a playoff game and walked off another, Taylor remains focused on another chance at World Series glory in 2023.

Taylor remains just one of three players on the Dodgers roster that stayed throughout this season after the team’s first World Series under Roberts.

Continuity within the team has surely changed, but what hasn’t is the teamwide mentality to continuously improve no matter the circumstances.

Gone are the faces of old such as Cody Bellinger, Kenley Jansen and Corey Seager from LA’s previous playoff conquests and in steps a 2023 Dodger roster unlike any other.

Fueled by rookie pitching talent, MVP candidates atop their lineup, savvy veteran additions and trade deadline acquisitions, Taylor and this year’s cast of characters await their next biggest test in just one week.
